This outfit is very similar to the one I showed you last week, and that’s intentional because I have another idea in mind. You can wear the same thing on the same day or the day before and just remix it for another event. Think of it as a way to transition an outfit from day to evening.
I often remix parts of my outfit for another occasion on the same day because I really enjoy wearing certain items from my wardrobe, like this cobalt blue top I found. I hadn’t worn it much before, but once I paired it with my white pants, I loved it and wanted to wear it more.
It’s also practical. Often, my clothes aren’t dirty (especially when worn indoors), and washing them immediately would be a waste and not good for the fabric. It’s much better to give them another wear before washing. This fits into my goal of having a more minimalist wardrobe.
Since I wanted to wear my silk electric blue top again for a fancy dinner outside, I needed an outfit that was airy, fun, and a bit chic. It’s still warm in the evenings, so no layers needed. I tried it with several black skirts, but this girly one was the winner.
I didn’t change much from my original outfit except swapping the trousers for a skirt, changing the shoes, and adding a colorful bag. This creates a more graphic look and adds more color, which I like. Since this look was quite ladylike, I wanted to add a bit more fun.
It still feels like a completely different outfit. The previous one was more business-like for a meeting, and this one is more party-ready.
This look doesn’t feel 100% like me. It’s a bit too girly, emphasized by the shoes (I would normally have chosen high-heeled black sandals), and the skirt is a bit short for my taste.
However, it’s fun to explore a different side of myself and try something new now and then. I was out with good friends, so it was a perfect chance to experiment and have fun with my outfit.
And yes, that black and white belt is here again. I really do wear it a lot!
Have you been experimenting with your wardrobe lately? Sometimes, it’s fun to dress for a different side of yourself.
