Mastering the Art of Styling Ankle Skinny Pants: Here’s Why They Top My List!

Mastering the Art of Styling Ankle Skinny Pants: Here's Why They Top My List!

Lately, I’ve been drawn to whites and lighter pastels, but today I felt like going for a darker look. This change in mood was prompted by a new asymmetrical blouse/jacket from Porto that I got from Getdressed2.

The blouse is incredibly stretchy and comfortable with a unique design. I’m wearing a size 1, but I could have gone a size smaller for a snugger fit. If you have an average bust size, I’d suggest sizing down. While this blouse would look amazing with my white skinny pants, I chose to wear it with black pants for a more monochromatic and streamlined look. I also added some accessories for a splash of color.

I love asymmetrical clothing and if you do too, here are my latest favorites.

The necklace is from Obb Unique, and they make the most beautiful stone necklaces. I found mine at a street market with my friend, style blogger Suzanne Carillo, so it has a lot of fond memories attached to it.

The red bag I’m using is probably my most worn bag. I found it in Amsterdam a few years ago while shopping with my friend Saskia. I love when the pieces I use often have special memories. This bag is lightweight, the perfect size, and adds a pop of color to my neutral outfits. It’s made from leather and is quite durable. I don’t know the brand, but it was affordable, and I highly recommend getting a colorful bag to brighten up your outfits.

Now, let’s talk about the pants. These black skinny 7/8 pants are my most worn pants. If you’ve been following me, you’ve seen them in various colors—white, red, mustard, and now black.

Here’s why I love these pants:
– They are skinny but skim the legs instead of hugging them tightly, making them comfortable and breezy.
– They have elastane for added comfort.
– They aren’t too short, so they look great with both flats and heels.
– Cropped pants are still trendy.
– They pair well with ankle strap shoes without shortening the look of the legs.
– The pockets are convenient and create a nice silhouette.
– They can be worn with tucked-in tops, long tops, medium tops, and blouses like the one I’m wearing.
– You can dress them up or down.
– They are slimming.

It’s no wonder these pants are part of the 40+Style Casual Summer Style challenge. While I included the white version in the challenge, you can choose another color if white isn’t your thing.
