Welcome to day 5 of the 40+Style Casual Summer Style Challenge! We’re putting together 10 different outfits from just 9 pieces. The challenge might be over, but you can still join in and get the full shopping list and all the outfit ideas by clicking below.
It’s exciting to see everyone sharing their outfit interpretations. Many of you have mentioned how much fun you’re having and how much you’re learning about styling. I’m thrilled to hear that!
I’m especially happy to read that a lot of you are shopping in your own closets and rediscovering older clothes. Sometimes, it just takes a bit of creativity to breathe new life into your wardrobe. It’s wonderful to see the community inspiring each other!
Let’s Dive into Outfit 5
Asymmetrical Top or Vest:
I had to include an asymmetrical top in our capsule wardrobe. Asymmetrical lines add interest and are often very flattering. My asymmetrical top also works as a vest, perfect for layering.
Flower Blouse:
Flowers and pastels are on trend this summer. A subtle print like the one on the first blouse makes it easy to wear. A sheer blouse adds a lovely layered effect. If you’re not into flower prints, go for a solid blouse.
Chinos:
Chinos with a bit of stretch are super comfy and perfect for casual occasions. A boyfriend style looks the most relaxed.
How I Styled Outfit 5:
For outfit 5, I layered a sleeveless asymmetrical top over a sheer blouse. This gave the sheer blouse a new look and more versatility. I can wear my top both closed and open as a vest, which offers different styling options.
To keep things comfortable, I paired the outfits with wedges for a bit of height while still being easy on the feet.
