Strategies for Surviving and Thriving on Bad-Hair Days

Strategies for Surviving and Thriving on Bad-Hair Days

I’ve received quite a few comments saying how nice my hair looks in the pictures for my capsule wardrobe series. I totally agree, but unfortunately, good hair days are still rare for me. Most of the time, I just tie it back.

Managing longer hair can be tough, especially if you regularly exercise. The easiest solution is to pull it back, also because I prefer having it away from my face. Plus, as the month goes on, my gray and frizzy roots start showing, giving me a different look.

On bad hair days, I try to compensate with an interesting outfit and sometimes even wear a hat. You’ve seen the graphic t-shirt before, but the skirt and necklace are new. I was drawn to the graphic lines of the skirt.

I realize I can’t look picture-perfect every day. I don’t have the patience to spend a lot of time grooming and styling my hair, so I prefer a manageable hairstyle. I’m questioning whether it’s better to have hair that looks amazing only a few days a month but dull the rest of the time or a style that’s not super flashy but looks okay most days. This is something I’m considering as I decide what to do with my hair.

I love the contrast between the straight lines of the skirt and the roundness of the necklace. Sadly, this will be the last time you see the necklace, as I dropped it on a stone floor and it shattered into a thousand pieces.
