Styling A Short Red Dress Over Pants: Two Distinct Looks

Styling A Short Red Dress Over Pants: Two Distinct Looks

I’ve noticed the trend of wearing a short dress over pants lately and I’m really into it. Maybe it’s because I still feel like I’m 25 when shopping and think I can pull off those super short dresses solo! With this particular dress, I immediately fell in love with its design and color. I felt amazing in it and convinced myself I could wear it on its own, though deep down I knew I’d play around with it in different ways. I can still remember those thoughts running through my head in the store!

This dress is pretty versatile. Thanks to the big elastic band at the bottom, you can easily hike it up to wear it like a regular top or even tuck it in if you want. I had a great time wearing it like a dress or tunic over my white wide-legged pants. The red hat I added just gave the whole outfit an extra fashionable touch!

All the photos you see were taken in front of the elephant displays here in Singapore, part of the international Elephant Parade fundraiser. Started by Marc and Mike Spits in the Netherlands, this initiative has toured several countries since 2007, raising more than $10 million to help save the Asian elephant. An admirable accomplishment!

The pictures were snapped by my friend and photographer Sabine Fink. She also took some shots for my 40+ models shoot. Considering the challenging bright light and harsh sun in Singapore and no fancy equipment, she managed to capture some amazing photos and had fun adding special filters during post-editing.
