The Timeless Elegance of Coco Chanel

The Timeless Elegance of Coco Chanel

“Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”

These days, it feels like Coco Chanel is everywhere. Every style book I pick up mentions her, other fashion bloggers constantly reference her in their outfits, and her signature nautical style with stripes is definitely trending. I, too, am inspired by her timeless look, which became even more powerful after watching the film “Coco & Igor” last weekend. The movie not only had a compelling story but also showcased many stunning outfits.

I decided it was time to highlight one of my favorite style icons and explore what makes Coco Chanel’s style so special and enduring. One remarkable thing about her style is how modern her clothes still feel today. While watching the film, I couldn’t help but wonder if the clothes were replicas of what she actually wore or if they were modern adaptations.

No matter what, the outfits in the film radiated style and class, appearing timeless. They were crafted by a team of designers, with help from Chanel’s current designer, Karl Lagerfeld. They immersed themselves in Coco’s perspective, imagining what she would wear. If you’re interested, check out the original costume sketches from the film.
