Remember that green Sabrina Goh dress I talked about a while back? The one I showed you how to wear as a separate? Well, this week, I decided to wear it in one of my favorite ways – as a dress over pants. I even turned the dress around to wear the wrap at the back instead of the front. Dresses with versatile styling options are fantastic! By the end of this post, you might agree that having a drapey dress like this in your wardrobe is a must-have.
Wearing It With Black Capris:
First up, I paired the dress with black capris. This combo is fail-proof. The colors match perfectly, and it’s a look that any stylist would approve of. Generally, it’s a good idea to pair a wide top with tight bottoms, and vice versa. The capris are tapered, and the shoes match the pants, creating the illusion of long legs. Plus, the dress itself gives a nice 2/3 to 1/3 silhouette. I’ve explained this more in-depth in my previous article about wearing capris.
Wearing It With White Capris:
Sometimes, I like to move away from a two-tone look by adding a third color. I did this in the previous look with accessories, but here it’s more noticeable. The dress with white capris feels more summery. If you want a casual rock chick vibe, just add a denim jacket. The black shoes add a nice contrast, but you can always switch to white shoes to lengthen the leg line further.
Breaking The Rules: Wide With Wide:
If you follow my blog, you know I also like pairing dresses with wide pants. This look isn’t for everyone, but I still enjoy it. It’s trendy and different, even if it makes me look a bit bottom-heavy. I love the volume! If you prefer playing it safe, sticking to the wide on tight rule is usually best.
Are You Remixing Your Drape Dresses?
These are just a few ways to wear this dress. It’d look great over jeans, a knee-length skirt, or even red pants. The possibilities are endless!
