What Is Sparking My Sudden Fascination with Gold Jewelry?

I’ve posted all the images on my jewelry Pinterest board. You can find the original sources there if you’re interested. And hey, don’t forget to follow me on Pinterest!

Lately, I’ve been going through a bit of a shift. I’ve always been a die-hard silver fan, but now, out of the blue, I’m all about gold. What’s going on? Do our tastes just change as we get older?

I had a similar experience with chocolate. I was always into milk chocolate and couldn’t stand dark chocolate. Then, suddenly, I switched to only wanting dark chocolate. Weird, right?

One of my favorite Dutch designers is Hans Appenzeller.

Do our tastes shift as we age? How do these sudden changes come about? If you have any insights, let me know!

This new gold obsession isn’t very handy. All my jewelry and accessories are silver. I don’t own any gold pieces. But with my new bright clothes, I really wanted some gold jewelry. So, I ended up buying some faux pieces at Tang’s. The biggest issue is my watch collection – they’re all silver or metal colored, no gold in sight. For now, I’m wearing two bracelets instead.

I’m curious to see if this gold phase will last. For now, I’ll stick to fake and colored jewelry, but if this keeps up, I might invest in some real or faux gold pieces. I’m eyeing some contemporary designs by Linnie McLarty, which I hope to see when I’m in London for the Olympics in July. I’ll also check out my favorite jewelry shops in Amsterdam. If you have any recommendations for contemporary jewelry designers in London or the Netherlands, let me know!

Have you ever experienced sudden, dramatic changes in your preferences as you age? I’d love to hear about your experiences!
