Dress Up Casually: The Benefits of Wearing Your Best Clothes Everyday

I hardly ever wear jeans and a basic t-shirt. Why? Because I have so many nicer clothes to choose from!

My closet is full of really nice outfits. They might not be the most ‘casual’ clothes, but they can still be worn in a casual way. Here in Singapore, it’s usually more comfortable to wear a lightweight skirt with a loose, light top instead of jeans and a t-shirt.

These nicer clothes often get overlooked for special occasions because I have even newer and more special items for those events. So, the best way to make sure these clothes are worn is to use them for everyday activities, like a casual walk or lunch.

Today, I was inspired by an article about Yasmin Sewell. This look is totally her! Plus, it’s super comfy. The skirt feels like nothing and is perfect for the breezy Singapore weather.

I did cheat a little by adding high-heeled booties. I couldn’t resist—they just looked so good with the outfit. Surprisingly, since they are platform heels with cushioning, they’re actually comfortable. But, I could have easily worn flats, which would make the outfit even more comfortable than jeans and a t-shirt.

Next time you’re looking for something comfy to wear, don’t just go for the obvious choices. Check out the nicer clothes in your closet that don’t get enough wear. See if you can dress them down a bit or just wear them as they are. Why wear something ordinary when you can look prettier and feel special? Give those lovely items in your wardrobe the chance to shine!

Do you wear your nice clothes often enough?
