Embracing Stripes at a Chic Artistic Cafe

Embracing Stripes at a Chic Artistic Cafe

I love wearing jackets and blazers, but in Singapore, they are always too hot, so I rarely wear them. When I visited Europe, I felt like I had “nothing to wear” for cold Holland, so I bought this blazer to modernize my winter wardrobe a bit. Unfortunately, this blazer, made of cotton and linen, was too cold for Holland. It’s also too hot for Singapore, as most jackets are, but there are chances to wear it indoors.

This trendy jacket follows the current high-contrast and stripes trend. Knowing it might not be in style for long, I bought it at a reasonable price from Zara. I think it’s fine to get a few trendy pieces each season to add some fun to your wardrobe, even if you know they might be seasonal. However, I wouldn’t recommend spending a lot of money on very trendy items. I save my budget for more timeless, high-quality pieces. That’s why I like shops like Zara, where you can buy trendy pieces affordably. Still, be cautious about quality; you don’t want to end up wearing items that are too low in quality. This jacket met my standards since it’s made of cotton and linen.

My Opening Ceremony shoes were perfect for this outfit. The tank top is by Balenciaga, which I got during a 75% off sale. I love its colorful print because it adds some necessary contrast, playfulness, and color to the outfit.

The trousers are also from Zara. I bought them as capris, but they had so much extra material that I was able to lengthen them to almost full length. I prefer creating a longer leg line.

Today’s photos were taken at the Artistry Cafe in the Arab Quarter of Singapore. It was set up by a Dutch national, so we decided to check it out. We didn’t get to meet the owner, but we enjoyed a nice cup of tea and the artwork on display. The venue turned out to be a perfect backdrop for our outfits. I was there with Anja, and I’ll be sharing her photos soon!

The jacket looks nice when closed too. As always, Anja and I had fun catching up and taking these photos. It’s always a lovely surprise when a venue turns out to be perfect for a photoshoot, plus we discovered a new hangout spot in Singapore. Artistry has new exhibitions all the time and often organizes jazz gigs.

Blazer and pants are from Zara, tank top from Balenciaga, shoes from Opening Ceremony, and sunglasses from Burberry. I hope you all enjoyed your Sunday and had fun dressing up! What did you wear this weekend?
