I really enjoy clothes with a unique, architectural vibe. That’s why I’m drawn to pieces with asymmetrical designs and sturdy fabrics that create interesting shapes. I know this top isn’t for everyone since it’s made from a very stiff double cotton, but I couldn’t pass it up when I spotted it in the store.
Wearing this top definitely requires some finesse. You need to ensure it sits correctly on your shoulders; otherwise, it leans back too much and gives an unflattering look. Despite that challenge, I love how the side silhouette looks with the black panels visible.
I decided to pair this top with my sand-colored slouchy pants. I’ve been looking for pants like these for a while, but finding the perfect pair was tough. Even though these aren’t made from natural fabric (which is usually a must for me), I couldn’t resist their fit and comfort. The contrast between the flowy, slouchy pants and the structured top is just great!
To complete the look, I added an architectural coral and silver cuff from Jewelry to your Doorstep. I adore the pop of color and the mix of round and triangle shapes that enhance the outfit’s architectural feel. This cuff is stunning and pairs well with many of my outfits.
For a necklace, I chose a simple red leather strap with a silver pendant I’ve had for years. I wanted something minimalistic that still added a bit of color near my face. My big red and fuchsia sunglasses also help with that!
As for my frizzy hair—yes, I know. It’s a constant struggle here in super humid Singapore. It looked good when I left the house, but just a bit of time outside, and it goes wild. Next week, I’ll show you what my hair is supposed to look like! I’m actually considering cutting it again, or maybe another keratin treatment.
