I’ve shown you these cropped pants a few times before in different styles. Once, I paired them with a colorful, wide jacket, and another time, I went for a monochrome look with a leather top. In all these outfits, the top is either short in the front or tucked in, which I think is key to keeping a flattering silhouette with wider cropped pants like these.
Cropped pants are always trickier to pull off than full-length ones, and wider cropped pants are even more challenging. It’s important to find the right balance in your outfit, aiming for a visual proportion that mimics the golden ratio, often around a 1/3 to 2/3 balance. This helps create a flattering overall look, allowing you to wear trendy or fun outfits confidently.
High-waisted cropped pants, like the ones I’m wearing, can make your legs look longer, balancing out the shorter length at the bottom. They also allow you to wear cropped tops without showing your midriff. This blouse is particularly great because it’s asymmetrical, longer in the back, adding interesting vertical lines that lengthen your look.
For an extra boost in height, heels are always a good idea with wide cropped pants. Other accessories are also important in this outfit. The asymmetrical necklace from Obb Unique complements the asymmetry of the blouse, while the ring from Sistaphyre Kreations adds a bold touch. My vintage sunglasses add a cool vibe to the whole ensemble.
The outfit was both fashionable and comfortable, perfect for exploring New York. I didn’t wear heels all day, though; I switched to flats for walking. If I had my comfy Fly London heels back then, I would have worn those instead.
Outfit details include a silk top from Parker, cropped pants from In Good Company, shoes by Lisa Tucci, a necklace from Obb Unique, and a ring by Sistaphyre. What do you think of wide cropped pants or culottes? Would you wear them this season?
