Last week, I shared my first outfit for a dressing challenge, which combined three colors and one print. This week, I’m showcasing my second outfit that’s even more colorful, but I made a notable styling mistake. My shirt was accidentally left too far open, revealing my singlet underneath. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize my blouse wasn’t properly closed at home and once I was out, there were no mirrors to check.
Additionally, I kept forgetting to wear my blouse over my blazer, leading to several imperfect pictures. It’s frustrating because the photos, taken by the talented photographer Juha, turned out great otherwise. So, please imagine my blouse more closed for a neater look, without my neck and chest so exposed. I opted out of wearing a necklace because the double collars of my blazer and blouse already made the area quite busy.
Regular readers will notice these pants are from my affordable bright colors wardrobe capsule. They’re sporty, funky, and not always easy to style. Inspired by my own challenge, I aimed for a dandy chic look with a strong color focus. After experimenting with my wardrobe, I found that this silk polka dot blouse paired perfectly with these pants and my new Opening Ceremony booties.
Dandy chic outfits typically include a hat, and while I would have preferred a cream hat with a colored ribbon, my grey hat worked just as well. You might recognize the cream blazer from last year’s Christmas outfit during my trip to cold Holland. This outfit also pairs nicely with my black CK Calvin Klein jacket from last week.
I still adore my Zara hat, though I rarely wear it because it’s too hot for Singapore’s climate. My Opening Ceremony booties also complement this outfit, proving they look great in both casual and formal chic looks, like the one I wore to French couture week.
Choosing and photographing these outfits was a lot of fun, despite the heat at 11 am in Singapore making it challenging to wear three layers. How about you – did you enjoy picking out your clothes this weekend?
Thanks again to Juha for the fantastic photos!
