Embracing Vibrant Shades!

This article is part of my series on the bright colors trend and how I’ve put together a wardrobe capsule featuring these vibrant hues. Let me show you a few more outfits from this collection.

I don’t usually wear tight pants because they emphasize the saddle bags on my thighs and they’re not very comfortable in the hot weather of Singapore. When I do wear them, I typically pair them with tunics. However, they can look stylish with nice tops too. Tucking in your tops creates a flattering 1/3 – 2/3 silhouette that I’ve talked about before.

These outfits give off a bit of a rock chic vibe. It’s definitely a youthful look that I’d reserve for very casual events or concerts. I think this style would be perfect for attending a Madonna concert in July!

The red top works well even without the green one underneath. It’s a little sexier and very suitable for Singapore’s climate. Of course, you’d keep the top more closed than it’s shown in the top picture.

I always find bright colors look amazing in high-contrast, graphic outfits. Any bright color pairs well with black and white. It’s also fun to mix several trends in one outfit, like combining graphical prints, bright colors, and color blocking!

One of my go-to looks is pairing pants with a short dress. It’s a fun change to wear a busy pattern and adding another color, like green, makes it even more interesting. Black shoes work great with this look, but highlighting the yellow in the dress with yellow shoes can be fun too.

You can also dress up these pants easily. Pairing them with a woven shirt or adding a blazer gives the bright funky pants a more mature look. You can choose a blazer in many colors for a dressy but still hip over-40 style.

So, what do you think? Do you find some of these looks too youthful, or do you enjoy dressing like a rock chic for certain days or occasions?
